Virtual conference sessions: June 18th, 2024

In-person regional outreach gatherings: July, August, September 2024

You’re invited to join Hunger Free Vermont, the Department for Children and Families, and people from across the state for our 5th annual 3SquaresVT Conference–which will be a bit different this year!

June 18th, 2024:

Join us virtually for a day of training sessions & educational workshops about 3SquaresVT. Conference sessions will explore:

  • Specific program policy and regulations–such as eligibility rules for immigrants, veterans, older adults, and folks experiencing homelessness

  • Strategies to strengthen application assistance and equitable 3SquaresVT outreach

  • Opportunities at the state and federal levels to improve 3SquaresVT

July, August, September 2024:

Following the virtual conference, we hope you’ll join us in-person at one (or more!) of the three regional outreach gatherings to dig deeper with your communities to understand the unique opportunities and challenges faced in increasing awareness, understanding, and participation in 3SquaresVT.

Stay tuned for more information about how (and where) to join these events!

What's the Conference Theme? +

“From Policy to Practice” is our theme this year. Knowing the rules of 3SquaresVT is really important for helping people get the support and information they need. When the rules and process are easy to understand, it makes it easier for people to apply for benefits and get what they're entitled to. Understanding the federal landscape of opportunity to strengthen and improve SNAP policy is important, too, so we can collectively work to ensure 3SquaresVT works for EVERYONE who qualifies in Vermont.

By emphasizing the importance of both policy and practice, the 3SquaresVT conference seeks to enhance understanding, collaboration, and innovation in the program.

Is this conference for me? +

This conference is for a broad range of people with varied levels of knowledge in the world of 3SquaresVT. There will be many access points for folks wanting to build up existing knowledge, and for folks who are just starting their work to understand the program.

In the past, we’ve had attendees (and speakers!) join us from community action agencies, area agencies on aging, food shelves, schools and universities, health clinics and hospitals, farmers and growers, shelters, veterans organizations, housing authorities, childcare centers and more.

Is it free? +

Yes! There is no charge to attend either the virtual conference or the regional outreach gatherings.
