Food Stamps for Working Families or Individuals

To qualify for the Food Stamp Program, a household must have a gross income of less than 130% of the Federal Poverty line and have less than $2,000 in resources available. Your car, the home you live in and "tools of the trade" do not count as resources. The rules are different if you have a Senior living in your home, you receive the Earned Income Tax credit and have a dependent child or a member of your household is receiving SSI, SSDI or Reach Up.
