Food Stamps for Immigrants

Estampas de Comida para Immigrantes (Spanish)
Food Stamps pour les Immigrants (French)
Food Stamps cho Nhung Di Dan (Vietnamese)
Food Stamp za Imigrante (Serbo-Croation)
Food Stamps dlya Immgrantov (Russian)

Many immigrants can get food stamps. The food stamp rules for immigrants have changed, so you may be able to get food stamps now even if you could not before.

If you are a documented resident of the U.S., you may be able to get food stamps. Getting food stamps also depends on your income, the money you have saved, and how many people live in your household. Getting food stamps will not count against you when you apply for your green card.

If you would like an interpreter to help you apply for food stamps, you can ask for one and the food stamp office will arrange for one. If you have questions about food stamps, call Vermont Legal Aid toll-free at 1-800-889-2047.
