How do I apply for 3SquaresVT?
To apply for 3SquaresVT benefits, you need to do the following:
The Application
You can turn in your application as long as you have filled out the first page, which asks for your name, address, and signature. You can tear off this page and drop it off or mail it to your local 3SquaresVT office. To download an application, click here (requires Adobe Reader) (the application is 19 pages and may take up to 3 minutes to download). To find your local 3SquaresVT office, click here. If you need 3SquaresVT benefits right away, you should also fill out page 3 of the application.
The Interview
After you turn in your application, the 3SquaresVT office will set up a time for you to meet with a worker. You will get a letter from the 3SquaresVT office that tells you the date and time of your interview. Your interview will usually be about 10 days after the 3SquaresVT office gets your application, or sooner if you need emergency help. If you cannot go to the 3SquaresVT office on the day and time of your interview, be sure to call or write to the office to ask for different time for your interview.
During the interview, your worker will go over your application with you and may ask you to bring in papers (requires Adobe Reader) to prove things like where you live or how much money you make. You may be able to find out that day if you can get 3SquaresVT benefits or it may take longer if the worker needs more information.
If you do not have the information your worker needs when you meet, you will have time to get it, but it may take longer for you to get 3SquaresVT benefits.
